But, what is a Green Day?
Fairfax County Schools (FCPS) allows some out-of-season contact between coaches and athletes. They have set in place guidelines for the number of meetings and type of activities that can be performed. These restrictions are designed to protect the student athlete and keep the emphasis on education. These limited days in which out-of-season coaches can meet with athletes are referred to as,
“Green Days" (skill development) and
"Yellow Days" (conditioning, weight training, non-sports specific).
Green Days are
NOT mandatory and have
NO impact on try-out results for any team.
How can you find out about
Green Days for a sport you might try out for?
1. Email the team coach (see above).
2. When/if coaches provide Green Day details to the Activities Office, it will be shared on Twitter @LBathletic.
