Dr. Richard Edgar is a Primary Care Sports Medicine Physician who specializes in the non-operative treatment of musculoskeletal injuries with advanced training in concussion management, diagnostic ultrasound, and ultrasound-guided injections including platelet-rich plasma (PRP). Additionally, Dr. Edgar specializes in advanced ultrasound procedures including TenEx/TenJet. Dr. Edgar attended medical school at the University of Maryland where he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Additionally, he completed his Family Medicine Residency at the University of Pennsylvania and his Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at Crozer Health in Springfield, PA. Dr. Edgar currently serves as team physician for the U.S. U-17 Men's National Soccer Team and joined the Lake Braddock Sports Medicine Team in 2023.

Michael Narvaez, MD - Co-Team Physician

Dr. Michael Narvaez is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, hip arthroscopy, joint preservation, and fracture care. His expertise allows him to serve as a referral source for arthroscopic and open treatment of complex shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee injuries. A native of Ridgewood, N.J., Dr. Narvaez was introduced to living in the D.C./Maryland/Virginia area while he completed his medical degree at the Georgetown University School of Medicine. He then went on to complete his orthopaedic surgery residency training at the Einstein Healthcare Network in Philadelphia, PA, and his fellowship in sports medicine at the renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, CA. While there, he served as an assistant team physician for the Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Angels, Anaheim Ducks, LA Galaxy, and Los Angeles Sparks. Dr. Narvaez joined the Lake Braddock Sports Medicine Team in 2023.

Suzanne Jaffe Walters, MD - Supporting Physician
OrthoBethesda - Washington Sports Medicine Institute (Tysons Corner, VA)
Dr. Walters received her medical degree from MCP-Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia and stayed on to complete her Residency at MCP-Hahnemann as well. She then went on to complete fellowships in Pediatric and Adolescent Sports Medicine at Harvard’s Boston Children’s Hospital, and Pediatric Orthopaedics at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Walters is board certified in both Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine, and formerly served as the Director of Sports Medicine at Children’s National Medical Center. She has over 10 years of experience in taking care of athletes of all ages and has a particular interest in taking care of the young athlete. She specializes in minimally invasive techniques in both the knee and shoulder, and strives to educate her patients and their parents so that informed decisions can be made. Dr. Walters joined the Lake Braddock Sports Medicine Team in 2018.

Elizabeth A. Bennett, MD - Supporting Physician
Private Practice
Dr. Bennett obtained her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine in Massachusetts, then completed her residency in Family Practice at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. She is Board Certified in Family Medicine. Throughout her 25 year career she has followed her husband throughout his assignments with the United States Marine Corp, working at military facilities, retirement communities, urgent cares, and corporate medical offices. She is currently the Medical Director for Shenandoah University's Wilken's Wellness Center supporting Students and Staff at the University. Dr. Bennett has also recently started her own telemedicine business/private practice to better suit the needs of busy Virginians. She can provide sports physicals, skin checks, blood tests, COVID tests, drug screenings, and care of sports injuries for athletes. Dr. Bennet joined the Lake Braddock Sports Medicine Team in 2021.
